On Saturday November 19th, the Aspiring Youth Running Club took to the trails at Carkeek Park to compete in the team’s first 5k. Despite the rain and mud, our runners showed up with a positive attitude and support for one another. They did an incredible job navigating hills, stairs, and the occasional fallen tree, with all runners finishing in under an hour! Go Team!

Thanks to Northwest Trail Runs for welcoming our runners and to Yataka Suzue for taking such gorgeous pictures. We are excited to have our runners participate in future Northwest Trail series races. Next up, the Interlaken Icicle Dash in February with our young adult runners!

Running Club will be returning in the Spring for another season gearing up for a 5k in May. Our Activity League programming offers a unique opportunity for students to develop in both body and mind as they work to build their athletic abilities as well as the nuanced social skills needed to form a cohesive team.

We are looking forward to expanding Running Club and other Activity League sports programs in future seasons!
